4.1.7 Count numbers

For this one I am going to use Count Numbers to show the number of sales per day/month

Please make sure you already have the file called 04-Explore_Pivot_Tables open

Click anywhere in the data in Supermarket Sales.

Click on Table Design | Summarize by Pivot Table.

Accept the defaults and click OK.

Drag Date to Rows, then drag Total again to Values.

Note how Excel automatically summarises your dates into months.

Notice how Excel automatically changes your Total to Sum – because it is a number.

Right click on any number in the Sum of Total e.g. B4 and choose Summarize Values By.

You will need to go down to More options.

Scroll down until you find Count Numbers.
